I read somewhere about how middle school can be a very crucial time where how one participates in 6-8th grade can kind of "make or break you" once in high school. I don't know about the school district you went to, but it was kind of obvious in mine. Some of the same people who didn't try hard in middle school were the sames who weren't excelling in high school and post-graduation. They were also some of the first people from my graduating class to start poppin out babies. x.x I can see why this is recommended for children in middle school. The last time I was at the Vatican, there was a different Pope and the route to Michaelangelo's fine artwork was jammed with people and scaffolding. Things were being refreshed, so to speak, 22 years ago!<br /><br />Los Ramblos has also been cleaned up since then, probably in anticipation of the '88 olympics. It had been a pretty seedy area, especially as you approached the beach towards the end of the avenue. Oh and Catalan had me completely confused! My French could only carry me so far . . . the Spanish/Catalan mix made things too messy for me to figure out then.
